2024-25 AJP International & MJDEF Grants

The Holy Cross Mission Center recently accepted applications from the Congregation’s international ministries for two grants: the Apostolic, Justice & Peace International Grant and the Mary Jane DeLaney Endowment Fund Grant. This year we are grateful to Holy Cross’s international leadership for navigating our new online grant management system to submit their project proposals.

The Apostolic, Justice & Peace International Grant exists to provide funding for apostolic, social justice, peace, and educational initiatives carried out in the name of the Congregation by Holy Cross apostolates or Holy Cross religious that cannot be accomplished, in whole or in part, without additional resources being made available.  Among the 13 projects that the Mission Center is proud to fund are:

  • “True Youth is Not in the Skin But in the Heart,” a formation program at Our Lady of Andacolla Parish in Chile
  • “Holy Cross Katojo Prison Rosary Making Project” in Uganda
  • “Media & Evangelization: Sharing the Gospel Digitally,” a youth evangelization program at St. Joseph’s Hill Senior Secondary School in Uganda
  • “A Mercy that Lasts at St. Felista’s: Food, Basic Needs, & Medication for the Elderly Poor” in Tanzania
  • “New Chapel Construction” at Our Lady of Presentation Church in Bangladesh

Likewise, the Mary Jane DeLaney Endowment Fund Grant process concluded recently. The MJDEF Grants exists for the benefit of women and children, in service of the most vulnerable. This year, we are pleased that the MJDEF Grants will fund 25 projects, including:

  • “Financial Support for 100 Students” at St. Joseph the Worker Parish & Notre Dame School & College in Bangladesh
  • “Integrated Development of Drug/Substance Addicted Children” in Bangladesh
  • “Positive Parenting Practices for Safe and Stimulating Environments in Childhood” in Chile
  • “Support for Single Mother Retailers” at Saint Jules Parish in Haiti
  • “Harvesting Rain Project” for St. Denis Ssebugwawo Nursery School in Uganda
  • “Fresh Milk Project” for St. Brendan’s Preschool and Primary School in Tanzania

Both of these grants, funded through the generosity of Holy Cross Mission Center donors, allow the Congregation’s ministries to make God known, loved, and served around the globe. Please join us in prayer that Christ’s love might shine through these projects in the year to come.
