The end of May marked a visit to Nuestra Madre Santisima de la Luz parish (Our Most Holy Mother of the Light) by Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Monterrey, Monsignor Juan Armando Perez Talamantes. The purpose of his visit was to celebrate the post-pandemic reopening of the four parish chapels for Sunday Mass, as well as the medical and physical therapy center for the economically poor, the food kitchens/dining rooms, communion calls to the homebound elderly and infirm, as well as any and all of the pastoral work of the parish. He was joined in celebration by the men and women of the parish, along with Holy Cross seminarians, sisters, and priests.
On July 1st, the local community in Mexico received Rev. Joseph Moyer, C.S.C., as the new director of the community. He will also serve as the director of formation for young men in Mexico who are preparing for religious life as brothers or priests in the Congregation of Holy Cross. Once he receives his “religious worker” Mexican visa, his work will officially begin.
