Two U.S. Province colleges and universities placed high in a national ranking of master’s degree institutions for service to the community, research and low-income student recruitment.
The University of Portland (Ore.), sponsored by Holy Cross since 1901, placed 26th in master’s universities; King’s College, founded by the Congregation in 1946, is ranked 121st. There were more than 600 colleges and universities evaluated overall. King’s also ranked 100th of master’s universities nationwide in the “Best Bang for the Buck” category; Portland was 148th.
