Bengal Bouts’ Dylan Cha Presents to Christ the King Catholic School

Students at Christ the King Catholic School in South Bend recently heard from Notre Dame student and Bengal Bouts boxer Dylan Cha, who spent 8 weeks in Bangladesh this past summer on a fellowship provided by the Institute for Social Concerns.

On Friday, November 22, Dylan visited the school to share photos and stories from his travels to a country of 170 million where Catholics make up just 0.3% of the population. In particular, he shared about his experiences at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Jalchatra, which has long been the Twinning Partner for Christ the King

The highlight of the event came when Dylan opened up the floor for questions, offering free “Holy Cross Missions” swag to students who asked a question. He heard questions like, “What was your favorite part?”, “How did you travel around Bangladesh?”, and “What new food was your favorite?” as he hopped around the gymnasium to give each grade the opportunity to ask questions.

Thank you to Fr. Steve Lacroix, C.S.C., Principal Lindsay Jeffress, and Assistant Principal Erin Turnock for inviting Dylan to speak about his experiences at Holy Cross’s international ministries. We hope that this programming opportunity sparked curiosity among your students!
